Middle School Academics

We are thrilled to add Middle School to our campus, starting with 6th grade in the fall of 2024 and continuing to 8th grade by the fall of 2026. At RCPS, our middle schoolers will be preparing to be

life-long learners and disciples of Christ through faith, rigorous academics, service, and character development.  Middle school curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the individual through project based and hands-on learning.  Students will develop study skills to prepare them for a competitive high school career.

The academic program for our Middles School follows a standards-based curriculum aligned with the Archdiocesan Subject Standards.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

As children enter and progress through Resurrection Catholic Parish School they each have a foundation for whole group discussion and inquiry-based learning. They are able to embrace the curriculum with enthusiasm as their literacy and math skills are advancing. This learning has a profound, lifelong effect on social, emotional, moral and academic development, as well as self- esteem. At Resurrection Catholic Parish School, we give children the strongest foundation possible, with a program built upon the following philosophies and educational principles:

  • Children develop at different paces and in different ways.
  • Students thrive in learning environments that are engaging, caring, developmentally appropriate, integrated, and challenging.

  • An effective curriculum is interdisciplinary with an emphasis on hands-on learning, providing continual opportunities for students to question, research and analyze. This supports a healthy balance among the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of the individual child.

  • The learning environment must provide opportunities for students to explore, to play, to investigate, and to communicate their ideas and findings.

  • Observation and documentation of how each student plans, executes, and completes a task is core to the assessment and future curriculum planning for each child.

  • Social-emotional intelligence is essential for future life success, thus students will be supported, as they grow further in character, competence, and compassion. Good manners, social grace, etiquette and respect for self and all others are daily practices. Service to others and self-care are part of this equation.
